KOSHI TAPPU WILDLIFE RESERVE

| The Reserve lies in Saptari and Sunsari districts in an area of 175 square kilometers. It was established in 1976. The reserve is completely inundated during monsoon from 10 to 300 centimeters. The reserve has dense tall grassland. The reserve is famous for the last surviving 100 wild buffalos. The reserve has 280 species of birds, including ducks, ibises, storks, egrets, herons, swamp partridges and Bengal floricans, to mention a few. The reserve is also inhabited by the endangered gharials and Gangetic dolphins found in the Koshi River. Flight to Biratnagar is the best way to reach this Wildlife reserve. After reaching Biratnagar, it takes two or three hours drive to get there.

Day 01: Arrival and brief introduction of the facility and program. Day 02: Full day excursion on boat and four wheels. Day 03: Bird watching around the camp area or leisure and fly back to Kathmandu.
