General Information for the Visitors

Access to Nepal 

By Air 

Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu is the only international airport in Nepal. Nepal Airlines is the national flag carrier of Nepal and it operates flights to many cities in Asia. Kathmandu is very conveniently connected by by Air Arabia (Sharjah), Air Asia ( Kuala Lumpur), Air China ( Lhasa and Chengdu), Biman Bangladesh (Dhaka), China Eastern Airlines ( Kunming), China Southern Airlines (Guangzhou), Dragon Air ( Hong Kong), Druk Air ( New Delhi and Paro), Etihad Airways ( Abu Dhabi), flydubai (Dubai), Air India ( New Delhi, Kolkata and Varanasi), Indigo Airlines ( New Delhi), Jet Airways ( New Delhi and Mumbai),  Malaysian Airlines ( Kuala Lumpur), Malindo Air ( Kuala Lumpur), Oman Air ( Muscat), Qatar Airways ( Doha), Sichuan Airlines ( Lhasa and Chengdu), Silk Air ( Singapore), Thai Airways ( Bangkok) and Turkish Airlines ( Istanbul).

By Land

Nepal is land-linked to the two fastest growing economies in the world; India and China. Currently, a substantial number of international visitors enter to Nepal via eight overland entry points: Kakadvitta, Biratnagar, Birjung, Sunauli, Nepalgunj, Dhangadi and Gaddhachauki along Nepal-India border. Visitors entering to Nepal overland must possess international carnet and fulfill the customs formalities at the entry point. 

Visa

Visitors can obtain the tourist visa from Nepal Embassy in their respective countries or upon their arrival at the immigration offices located at the international airport and overland entry points. Visitors from most of the countries can obtain a visa upon arrival. The visa form can be submitted online to the Department of Immigration of the Government of Nepal. Climate 

Nepal has four seasons and it is a year-round tourism destination. Autumn and spring seasons are very pleasant with mild weather and blue sky. Monsoon is active from June to the end of August with heavy rains.
